Casket Cases

An incompetent twenty-something mailman with no purpose in life finds one after he inherits his uncles successful funeral home. Despite the well-vocalized objection from the town he decides to keep it, and with the help of his friends navigates through this newfound profession. Through their screw ups and minor successes they begin to learn secrets about the uncle, the home, and the profession itself.
Another dark comedy, this series focuses on the character of Dylan and the events that follow after his inheritance. Much of the comedy in this series comes from the groups enormous lack of knowledge in the field, as well as its use of gross-out humor that continuously pushes the envelope. Through treating themes such as death and loss in such a comedic way, Casket Cases hopes to challenge the way we look at death.
Attached is a sample of some scenes from the pilot episode which can be read here.
Premises of future episodes revolve around the death of a high school crush, the Funeral Games where rival funeral homes battle it out for the Golden Urn, and the Uncle's dark connections to the mob.
