The object of this short was to create a strong sense of home in a unique environment.
Through framing, lighting, and blocking, I aimed to create an extremely intimate look at the cinema as a place.
As I was shooting, I realized how cinematic the theater itself can be. With seamless symmetry and striking shadows, the place was a goldmine of beautiful frames.
There are so many aspects of the theater that can arouse an emotional response. Whether it be the smell of popcorn, the collective laughter of an audience, or the lights dimming and the film beginning.
